Bevel
is another Earth Sensor stray light phenomenon that cause the same pointing
error signature as Batwing, but is an order of magnitude smaller. It is
handled by Single Chord operations.
Boom Snap
is another SMC operation that occurs when the Sun crosses the
equatorial plane and heading south. Once a day the Magnetometer Boom
aligns itself in such a way that it casts a shadow across the Solar
Sail Boom. This causes a snapping motion in the spacecraft.
NOAA compensates for this with a Boom Snap SMC coefficient load
on a daily basis.
